So I navigate by starlight, but I'm somehow at a loss
So point me to the station where the walkabout is art
And the stories are as snapshots that I carry in my heart

I'm Dreamtime in a suitcase on a quest to lift a curse
With anecdotes to gather and some myths to intersperse
As the path uncoils before me, I resolve to stay alert
For I know a moving target is less likely to be hurt

So I took the helm with courage, but my mind was miles away
To sail unchartered waters is to leave beliefs behind
For until I find my beacon, home is still a state of mind

The water sings a siren's call and bids me come and play
It's as blue as any heaven, I can't tear my eyes away
I've always steered my own canoe in constant search of more
Perhaps I need a captain now to row my boat ashore

I can't recall if what I've seen was only fantasy
Did the image fade into the rock, or was that specter me?


They said I would have visions by the rock of Uluru
So I fell into my Dreaming, and the light I saw was you
To remain in constant motion is my only way to cope
For some people fight their demons, but I try to fend off hope

What felled me from my fortress I suppose I'll never know
Whether swiftness of an arrow or the deftness of a bow
And now that I lie face down in the dusty blood-red soil
I hear magnetic singing of vibrating string and coil
